Preparing the Cultural Strategy has been overseen by a relatively small group, called the Cultural Strategy Group. A key recommendation is to create a much wider structure, provisionally called a Culture Board, to take us forward into the next stage.
This table sets out the people and organisations we have talked to so far. In some cases we have given names, for example where people work there. In other cases, protecting confidentiality, we can’t give individuals names. If there is a weblink for the organisation or artist we have added that too. This list is in addition to the artists who worked on commissions in Phase 3. You can see more about the process we have followed on the ‘What We Did‘ page.
Members of the Cultural Steering Group are listed first, so people can see who they are. If more than one person from an organisation is listed, the one named first has sat on the Steering Group.
Other organisations, groups or individuals involved are listed in alphabetical order. We add new names as they participate. There have been unexpected connections and opportunities to make new links and find a helping hand through the journey, exemplified by this poem about keeping healthy during lockdown.
We are particularly grateful to people who organised network meetings or invited CSG members to their events. This meant many more people were involved and we are thankful for all their contributions.
